We beat our fundraising target for the Million Paws Walk!

Catriona Pollard - Monday, May 21, 2012

We loved walking in the Million Paws Walk yesterday!

We surpassed our fundraising target of $250 by raising a total of $330! Thank you to everyone who donated and supported our team.

This money is donated to the RSPCA to help them protect neglected and mistreated animals in Australia.

Each year the RSPCA rescues 160,000 animals and we hope that by supporting them they can continue their great work.

See our CP Communications fundraising page to check out how much money we raised or to make a last minute donation!

We had a great time at the Million Paws Walk and saw so many cute dogs walking around Olympic Park. Minty and Leiah, the dogs we walked, had fun and made lots of friends.

Have a look at our CP Communications Facebook page or Pinterest to see pictures of the event.

We are participating in the Million Paws Walk!

Catriona Pollard - Wednesday, March 21, 2012

We are very excited to be participating in the Million Paws Walk 20th May 2012 to help raise money for the RSPCA.

We love animals and we believe that they should be protected, which is why we are supporting this very worthwhile cause.

The RSPCA NSW cares for and protects neglected, abused, injured and strayed animals. Last year 46,558 animals went to the RSPCA for help. The RSPCA provides new homes for neglected animals, educates the community, responds to animal cruelty complaints and so much more.

The Million Paws Walk aims to inform, entertain and educate the community about animal welfare to help stop animal cruelty in Australia.

We will be walking the 4km track around Olympic Park in Sydney on Sunday 20th May 2012.

We hope that by participating in the Million Paws Walk we can raise money and awareness to help neglected animals, but we need your help.

Please support our team and the RSPCA by donating to our CP Communications fundraising page.

Help us achieve our fundraising target of $250!

Meet Leiah

Leiah is a fluffy 18 month old spoodle who will be joining us on the Million Paws Walk. She’s a photogenic teddy bear that loves a good play. Leiah regularly visits our office and acts as a guard dog when the mail man arrives. She is very friendly and can’t wait to attend the Million Paws Walk with us.

Media release: Going the distance for charity - 700 marathons in 700 days

Catriona Pollard - Monday, December 19, 2011

On December 31, when most of us will be preparing to party in the new year, Sydney-sider Tom Denniss will start the first leg of his 29,000km run around the world.

To raise money for Oxfam, Tom will run the equivalent of 700 marathons in 700 days, hoping to create a Guinness World Record for the “Fastest Circumnavigation of the Earth on Foot”, which has never been achieved before.

He will start, and end, at the Sydney Opera House with his first “warm-up” leg taking him to Bondi Beach. On 1 January 2012 he will fly to New Zealand, and then on to the rest of the world. He will run on every continent except for Antarctica and visit more than 20 countries.

“My motivation to take on this challenge is two-fold, I want to raise money for a worthwhile charity while also experiencing a once in a lifetime adventure,” Tom said. “I chose Oxfam to support because, as I am running around the world, I wanted a charity that assisted, not just those in Australia, but people from all parts of the globe”.

Tom, who is the founder of Oceanlinx, a renewable energy company, said the areas he is most looking forward to running are, over the Andes from Chile into Argentina, running along the lip of Grand Canyon, and across the Nullarbor on his final leg back home through Australia.

“Most people, when they travel, only see a very small part of the world around them; I’ll being doing it all at a much slower pace, not just seeing the ever-changing countryside, but hearing and smelling it too.”

Tom will have a support crew driving the course with him, including his wife and a friend. They will be transporting the gear, providing drinks and food, and chronicling the journey through photographs and social media updates.

Throughout the adventure Tom will share his location through the use of a GPS tracker and will be regularly blogging and using social media to share his stories and photos.
