Two new units have been launched in Macquarie University’s Faculty of Business and Economics Department of Accounting and Corporate, Master of Corporate Governance to enhance offerings to students and increase their learning opportunities.
Emerging Issues in Financial Crime and Fraud Detection, Investigative Techniques will be added to the course this year. Macquarie University’s Master of Corporate Governance is internationally focused and was the first of its kind in Sydney.
The Emerging Issues in Financial Crime unit will provide students with an in-depth understanding of the many facets of financial crime and governance. It increases awareness of the political economic environment and cultural and social repercussions of financial crime on business and the community.
The Fraud Detection, Investigative Techniques unit was designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills to develop and manage corporate compliance and action programs with legislative requirements as well as fraud and corruptions risk assessments that assist discovery, identification and reporting of corporate wrongdoing. It will enable practitioners to effectively retrieve and secure evidence to support fraud investigation.

Masters of Corporate Governance students undertake a comprehensive study of corporate governance from a financial, social, cognitive and business perspective.
