Next Digital relaunches its brand into a full service digital agency for the Asia-Pacific

Catriona Pollard - Tuesday, May 08, 2012
Next Digital has relaunched their brand to reflect their growth as one of the Asia Pacific’s largest full service digital agencies.

As a once traditional digital solution based agency, the rebrand represents Next Digital’s focus on customer and social media engagement through ideas based digital campaigns.

Along with their original target market they will also be focusing on those clients that wish to use digital as a key channel in their overall strategies.

Creative Director, Hayden Peters said, “This rebranding of Next Digital encompasses our expansion into Asia and aligns itself with our focus on becoming a creative leader in Australia and the wider region.”

In accompaniment of the social led nature of their recent expansion into South East Asia, Next Digital has relaunched its brand to provide a direct view of the key services provided: creative, marketing, strategy and technology.

“Our traditional brand was not reflecting where Next Digital is, and what we provide, as a company. We needed to externally showcase what we can offer as a strategic and marketing led agency,” Mr Peters said.

“When we deconstructed the original brand, we had a look at what digital was in regards to what we offer and then looked at other agencies and how they reflect and engage. We found many agencies to be quite insular in how they communicate and we wanted to be different,” said Mr Peters.

Next Digital has created a global voice including a platform for their employees to discuss, in all honesty, their opinions about their brand.

“Next Digital’s voice is the voice of a global collection of people speaking through the brand. We even have a mascot – MicroChip – a little robot that represents the fun persona of the brand,” said Mr Peters.

The success of the relaunch will be measured through online analytics including the amount of engagement Next Digital receives from their Facebook campaign ‘Love digital like us’.

Next Digital acquires award-winning Asian digital agency FutureLab Asia as part of regional Asian expansion drive

Catriona Pollard - Thursday, February 09, 2012
One of Australia’s leading digital marketing agencies, Next Digital, has successfully acquired South East Asian digital marketing agency, FutureLab Asia.  With an ideas led approach and focus on social media, FutureLab Asia was identified as a natural fit for Next Digital to continue its growth strategy in Asia.

FutureLab Asia’s social media strategy skills will be integrated into Next Digital’s service offering across its three Australian offices and its three Asian offices in Kuala Lumpur, Shanghai and Singapore.

The acquisition will strengthen Next Digital’s ability to create sophisticated social strategies for its clients in addition to the core digital strategy, creative, web, ecommerce, mobile and digital marketing services it offers.

“Next Digital undertook extensive research into digital marketing businesses in the ASEAN region and found FutureLab Asia to be a great business, with world class talent and services that really complement what we already offer,” says Andrew Burke, Chief Executive Officer for Next Digital.

“This acquisition will enable Next Digital to improve the way we deliver on the social media needs of our clients, and reinforces our focus on becoming a creative leader in Australia and the wider region.”

FutureLab Asia has a comprehensive portfolio of clients including well known brands such as Maxis, Johnson & Johnson, AirAsia and 7-Eleven.

“Their idea processes, creative thinking and ability to execute amazing and award-winning campaigns will add that extra level of firepower to Next Digital,” explains Mr Burke. “Acquiring FutureLab Asia is a key step in our growth strategy and follows our continued strong growth in China.”

The founders of FutureLab Asia, Janet Teo and Vic Sithasanan, will be joining Next Digital, and heading up two separate locations in South East Asia: Janet Teo is CEO of Next Digital Kuala Lumpur and Vic Sithasanan is CEO of Next Digital Singapore.

“We are exceptionally proud to have these two talented and passionate professionals driving the Next Digital business in the ASEAN region,” states Mr Burke.

With over 15 years experience with global brands they will be the driving force behind Next Digital in South East Asia.

“Next Digital is developing a strong network across the region, has great talent across its offices and focuses on developing exceptional work. We are all really excited to be part of this vibrant company and feel a close kinship because we share similar values,” adds Mr Sithasanan.

“Being part of Next Digital brings huge benefits to our current clients as we expand our digital offering in the Asian market, and provides us with the scale to compete with global agencies.”

Effective today, FutureLab Asia will be rebranded as Next Digital.

Media Release: Aprimo launches integrated mobile capabilities for digital marketers

Catriona Pollard - Thursday, July 14, 2011

Aprimo®, a global leader in cloud-based integrated marketing software, has announced a new Mobile Marketing module for Aprimo Marketing Studio® On Demand (AMS On Demand) that adds integrated text messaging (SMS) capabilities to its campaign management offering.

With the new Mobile Marketing solution, customers can launch SMS campaigns from within their AMS On Demand platform, enabling them to leverage the same segmentation, dialogue and campaign management functions used for other digital marketing channels such as e-mail and microsites.

Recent data from the International Telecommunications Union shows that the total number of SMS messages sent globally tripled between 2007 and 2010, from an estimated 1.8 trillion to 6.1 trillion. Close to 200,000 text messages are now sent every second.

Today, more companies are using SMS to gain new customers, build deeper relationships and create new revenue opportunities through up-selling and cross-selling.

Chief Marketing Officer of Aprimo, Lisa Arthur said, “Mobile has become an increasingly important channel for companies across all industries to reach their customers and prospects.”

“Managing everything, including email, social, SMS and offline, from a single platform ensures consistency, guarantees a better overall user experience and gives marketers concrete data that shows how new channels such as mobile are performing,” said Ms Arthur.

Aprimo’s SMS messaging capabilities are integrated within the familiar AMS On Demand platform, allowing for coordination of SMS text messaging with other digital marketing efforts, including campaign management tools and audience data.

Existing Aprimo customers can begin using the new SMS capabilities immediately. For more information about the AMS On Demand Mobile Marketing, please visit: www.Aprimo.com/SMS.

Media Release: @www Digital and Dubz.TV relaunches as The Dubs

Catriona Pollard - Monday, June 28, 2010
Digital agency @www and its branded content sister agency, Dubz.TV has relaunched as The Dubs to reflect the changing nature of contemporary marketing.

@www Group Managing Director, Josh Frith said, “We believe ‘above the line’ and ‘below the line’ thinking is out of step with contemporary audiences and marketers need a new approach for increasing engagement with consumers.”

“In the past digital has focused on supporting above the line and below the line. Audiences have made a significant move into social environments and the focus is now on building relationships.”

“@www shifted to reflect this change and we began heavily concentrating on engaging with audiences and aligning brands with this engagement process.”

“Dubz.tv came about a couple of years ago from our work with media groups in the UK and the need for branded content approaches to incorporate their sponsors from on-air.”

“But @www and Dubz.TV have both changed significantly with the rise of social media; we now blend digital engagement with telling a brand’s story. We create environments that inspire audiences to interact with brands by connecting them with the brand’s story and each other.”

“The Dubs is simply no longer a traditional web development agency, it hasn’t been for some time – hence why we changed the name; as digital has diversified and stitched deeply into marketing we found far more of our work started with defining strategies rather than just the production approach alone.”

The Dubs is a long standing indie in the digital industry with offices in Sydney and London. The agency has 15 years experience working with brands, content producers and their audiences such as ING Direct, AMP Capital and Bayer Animal Health in Australia and media groups such as the BBC, ITV and FremantleMedia in the United Kingdom.
