Media Release: Vineyards now sold online to bidders worldwide

Catriona Pollard - Tuesday, November 09, 2010

A spectacular vineyard in the prosperous wine region of Mudgee will be auctioned online to draw interest from around the world.

The property has great potential and ample business opportunities and has great historical value as the property borders with the site of Australian writer Henry Lawson’s childhood home, where remains of the house still exist.

The property will be marketed to potential buyers by Spencer & Servi First National in Surry Hills and co marketed by Peter Druitt & Co in Mudgee using SOLDONLINE.COM.AU, an online auction campaign with bidding starting on 17 November and ending on 1 December.

The property is currently owned by eight Sydney businessmen who bought the property eight years ago as an investment and lifestyle opportunity. They are selling the property to focus on their separate business and career pursuits.

Clive Poolman one of the eight joint owners said, “The property has spectacular views over the Mudgee region, has well established vines and is the perfect opportunity for someone looking for a lifestyle change and business opportunity. We have really enjoyed spending weekends here for the last eight years.”

“The online process works for us as it provides bidders with 14 days to make informed decisions, but also gives us time to make our own decisions. With eight joint owners, this is the perfect solution,” said Mr Poolman.

David Servi, Director, Spencer & Servi First National said, “This is a great property with enormous potential. We have chosen to sell the property through SOLDONLINE.COM.AU to open up the property to more potential buyers.”

“The online method that SOLDONLINE.COM.AU provides makes the bidding process easier, allowing bidders to bid from the comfort of their own home eliminating the need for unnecessary travel to the site.”

“With many buyers expected to come from outside the local area, and with eight joint vendors also from outside the area, the SOLDONLINE.COM.AU online auction process makes perfect sense,” said Mr Servi.

Director of SOLDONLINE.COM.AU and Licensed Real Estate Auctioneer, David Scholes said, “Nearly 80 percent of properties are researched online, so it makes sense to have auctions online as well.”

“We have made auctions accessible for a greater range of bidders who can register and bid from wherever they are at their own convenience. This way both buyers and sellers have increased flexibility and can make their decisions from the comfort of their own home in their own time,” said Mr Scholes.

The property is 51.5 hectares with a well established six hectare vineyard complete with 11 X 13 metre cellar door or studio facility which has in the past been used for weddings and has great business potential.

The property also includes a four bedroom plus office home as well as a separate two bedroom cottage, a double lock up garage, a large dam, bore and a rainwater tank.

The property can be viewed online here.
